Woman taken to hospital in Fairfax County dies after being shot

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Detectives said they were investigating after a woman was shot and killed in Fairfax County early Thursday morning.

In a post on the X platform just after 1:45 a.m., Fairfax County police said they responded to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital for a woman who died after being shot. A man brought her to the hospital. He stayed there.

Crash leaves man hurt, lanes closed on I-270 in Montgomery County

Hours after posting about the incident, detectives were investigating to determine where the shooting happened and the circumstances surrounding it.

Rivian is getting $827 million in incentives from the state of Illinois to support building its next-generation electric vehicle, known as the R2.
