Woman critically injured in Queens hit-and-run: NYPD

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A woman was critically injured Friday night after a motorcycle driver struck her in Queens, authorities said.

The incident happened at 8:35 p.m. at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and 114th Street, authorities report. A 52-year-old woman was found in the roadway unconscious with severe body trauma, police said.

Investigators revelead that the victim was standing in the roadway on the southeast corner of Liberty Avenue, when a motorcycle driver hit her aftering losing control, authorities said.

The vicitm and the driver were both knocked to the ground, authorities said. The driver then fled the scene, leaving the motorcycle and the woman in the roadway.

First responders rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment.
