Woman arrested in wild Walmart video convicted in murder: I-Team

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The FOX 8 I-Team has found a woman captured in a wild chase through a local store has now been convicted of murder.

Shanaja Jones faces decades in prison for taking part in a murder — driving the car used in the crime. But last year, we saw how desperate she was to get away from police.

Cleveland police body camera video showed a wild scene inside the Walmart in the Steelyard Commons complex.

At that time, police said Jones had taken part in a deadly shooting leaving one man dead and another shot and taken to the hospital.

Then, investigators found Jones and a man went to the store to stare down an employee, a relative of one of the victims.

A call to police led officers to start walking through the store. When one officer tried to grab Jones, the video shows she took off running. That led to a chase through the aisles before she was taken down by an officer.

Court records show Jones is set to be sentenced soon on the murder case.

Cuyahoga County prosecutors say two other suspects in that case have not been identified, but the investigation is continuing.
