This year Anna underwent several rounds of chemotherapy to attack the cancer and went through a bone marrow transplant to help grow a new immune system to take care of the kidney disease. On Friday, her battle came to an end and she passed away at Children’s of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham.

Anna’s life was a masterclass in courage and vivacity. She moved through the world with a spirited grace, touching lives and leaving behind a trail of laughter, inspiration, and love. Her lucky number was 8, and true to that, she became a symbol of infinity, of endless possibility and hope.
