URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — April marks National Testicular Cancer Awareness Month and a member of the Cancer Center at Illinois (CCIL) has spent several decades researching how to help patients combat the disease.

The CCIL is a research institute at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign made up of more than 100 scientists from departments across campus. Their expertise combines the power of engineering and basic sciences to transform cancer research, detection, and treatment. Spinella is also a professor of Comparative Biosciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical and Translational Sciences at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
