Warm and windy today, stormy tomorrow

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We’ll feel a warm wind from the south through the day today. Temperatures soar into the mid 80s this afternoon. Humidity begins to build as well.

A strong cold front arrives tomorrow morning and pushes south through the state during the day. The line of storms along the front have the potential to be strong to severe.

Parts of the Tampa Bay area have slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather with this front. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts, but an isolated tornado is possible, especially for areas north of I-4.

Heavy downpours are also expected. The higher rainfall totals will be farther north, and the rain gets less intense as it heads south.

Behind the front, we have a long stretch of beautiful weather for the weekend. Friday will be the coolest day with highs in the 70s, lots of sunshine, and low humidity.

The weekend looks warm and dry. Saturday may start a little cool, but it warms up fast. Sunday will be warmer in the low 80s.

We stay dry and gradually warm up through next week.
