Warm start to the week; chance for showers Tuesday

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) —  Staying warm as we start a new work week with highs in the middle 80s. Plenty of sunshine for the first half of Monday then a sun and cloud mix during the afternoon and evening.

A strong disturbance will continue to track east out of the central and southern plains, as it reaches our area it will weaken but a few showers are possible on Tuesday. High temperatures will be slightly cooler with most of the area in the low 80s.

The heat is on by Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s, we’ll likely reach our first 90 degree day on Thursday. While we may warm up, our records appear safe, we’ll get close to the record of 93 set back in 1948 on Thursday but should fall short.

A weak front will move in by the end of the week, this will bring us a few showers Friday through Sunday.
