Who votes Tuesday? Catoosa, Chouteau-Mazie, Inola, Owasso, Sequoyah, Verdigris

Mar. 30—Voters who have not yet cast ballots in the April 2 elections affecting five school districts and the Town of Inola can do so Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at their local precinct polling sites.

Election of school board members are on the ballot for voters in Catoosa, Chouteau-Mazie, Owasso and Sequoyah school districts.

Requiring a 60% or more majority vote for passage are school bond propositions in Verdigris and Chouteau-Mazie school districts. The 1.5% sales tax vote in Inola also falls under this super majority requirement.

Verdigris Superintendent Mike Payne is urging school district patrons to get out and vote. On the ballot is a single bond proposal for $1.795 million to acquire additional land for future school expansion.

Payne said being able to acquire the land now will ensure Verdigris schools can prepare for current and coming population growth in the district. The land [to be purchased] borders the secondary campus to the south and east.
