Vote: Cincinnati Enquirer Student of the Week ballot, May 13

Welcome to the final Cincinnati Enquirer Student of the Week vote of 2023-2024, honoring excellence in character, arts and academics among high school students from May 6 to 12.

Much the way it works with the popular athlete of the week ballots, student of the week voters may cast a ballot once an hour from Monday at 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday on any device. Be sure to take phones off shared WiFi to cast a ballot.

The ballots at the bottom of this story will have three categories for high school students:

  • Spirit Award – Nominees for this award are students with a spirit of kindness, positive leadership, encouragement, compassion, volunteerism, perseverance and a will to serve others. Potential nominees could include cheerleaders, dance/drill team members, mascots, students who organize pep rallies or lead student sections at games, student leaders, volunteers or any good apple who shows school spirit or follows The Golden Rule.

  • Art & Soul Award – For this one, think creativity and expression. Potential nominees include students with achievements in band, orchestra, theater, choir, art, culinary arts, writing contests, sewing skills or other similar vocational-school mediums where students can shine through the arts.

  • Academic Excellence Award – Students in this category will excel in the core classes and other academic pursuits. Ideal candidates would be kids who may excel in STEM disciplines, vocational schoolwork, English and other languages. They may have achievements in science fairs, academic quiz teams, debate clubs, DECA, etc. They also may have great GPAs and rank high in their classes.

The winners will receive a certificate within a month so they can take a photo with it for our upcoming gallery.
