VDOT: Route 644 construction complete, all lanes reopened

ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — All lanes of traffic have reopened on route 644 (Bowling Green Road) over Great Swamp.

Lanes closures were in effect during construction of the culvert restoration project. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the temporary traffic signal has been removed, and lanes in both directions are open to traffic.

VDOT officials said the lane closures were necessary while construction crews worked to extend the lifespan of the existing culvert.
