Vallejo police car rammed six times by stolen car

(KRON) — On Wednesday, police shared the arrest of a man for stealing a car and ramming it multiple times into patrol cars in Vallejo, the Vallejo Police Department said.

On Monday, Vallejo PD noticed an Infiniti Q50 with a shattered sunroof in the parking lot of a business on the 2200 block of Tennessee Street in Vallejo.

Upon conducting a records check, police discovered that the Q50’s license plate had been reported stolen from a Subaru, police said.

Police then attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the parking lot by parking alongside the Q50 and turning on their emergency lights.

As police turned on their lights, the driver of the Q50 rammed the patrol vehicle six times in a “failed attempt” to flee the scene. The suspect then rammed the Q50 into a wall before surrendering, police said.

Upon searching the Q50, police found an unserialized loaded gun on the back seat, police said. Officers also ran the Q50’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and discovered it was reported stolen out of Richmond.

The suspect said he bought the Q50 from an unknown person on Facebook and that the firearm came with the vehicle, police said.

Police arrested the driver for multiple felony charges. A records check on the suspect revealed that he has multiple warrants for his arrest, including one for theft out of Solano County, another for burglary out of Marin County, and a third for probation violation out of Sonoma County, police said.

The suspect was transported to the county jail, where the gun was also booked into evidence, police said. The owner of the Q50 was contacted, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
