Vail Resorts to launch AI-powered assistant for 2024-25 ski season

DENVER (KDVR) — Starting next ski season, guests at four Colorado resorts will be able to use a new AI-powered tool to get support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

According to Vail Resorts, the tool, called My Epic Assistant, will answer questions on various topics like snow conditions or dining options on the mountain and parking.

Some of the example questions Vail Resorts pointed to were things like, “Where can I get rentals?” and “What is the closest parking lot to get to the mountain?”

The service will launch in time for next year’s ski season, so late 2024. It will only be available at four Colorado resorts:

  • Vail Mountain

  • Beaver Creek

  • Breckenridge

  • Keystone

Only one Colorado resort run by Vail, Crested Butte Resort, will not be part of this program when it launches. Epic said it had plans to expand to additional resorts in the future, however.

It will be available using the My Epic app, and guests will also be able to connect with a live resort expert via chat or phone.

Who owns Colorado’s ski resorts?

Epic Passes are already available for purchase ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The purchase price for a full 2024-25 Epic Pass is $982, which is $73 more expensive than it was this season. The Epic Local Pass is also on sale for $731.
