Unless You’re In Moab, Running From The Cops In Your Jeep Wrangler Is A Bad Idea

We know a lot of common criminals are dumb and don’t plan ahead, which is partly why they live a life of crime. But it’s always amazing to see them try using a vehicle like a Jeep Wrangler with two solid axles, a body-on-frame construction, and gearing made more for trails to try ditching police on a system of paved roads.

Find out how WWII Jeeps could drive underwater.

Almost as idiotic are people who use these types of vehicles for commuters and grocery getters, but at least they’re not making the even poorer decision to run from a cop.

The only time we’d think using a Wrangler to ditch police would be a smart move, if running from the fuzz is ever smart, would be if you’re somewhere like Moab with lots of trails to hop on and the police have Dodge Chargers and can’t follow.

Instead, in this situation a woman goes on the run from police on Lonoke, Arkansas and strictly stays on paved surfaces. It’s almost like she doesn’t know how to engage four-wheel drive or something.

What’s more, she thinks taking a lot of tight turns is going to help her. It’s like this woman has zero concept of how a lifted Jeep Wrangler handles versus a police cruiser. Are people really this clueless or is it just her?

She doesn’t bother leaving the pavement behind until an Arkansas trooper PITs the Jeep out and basically pushes her onto the shoulder. It’s like the concept of off-roading never even crossed her mind.

And immediately she shows why she didn’t go off-roading before. We hope the Jeep isn’t hers, because the farm jack and other mods on it are obviously just for looks.

The bad decisions don’t stop there. This lady apparently had her kid in the backseat of the Jeep Wrangler during the chase. We’ve seen a disturbing uptick in parents bringing their children along on police pursuits and to commit other crimes. It’s such an incredibly selfish, irresponsible move as a parent.
