Two teens arrested at E.C. Glass High School for trespassing

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Lynchburg say two teens are in custody after a trespassing incident at E. C. Glass High School on Thursday morning.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, around 7 a.m. on May 2, officers were called to the high school campus for two trespassers.

Once at the scene, police began searching the campus and found a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old. Police confirmed they are both students at the high school.

Both students were arrested and charged with:

  • Trespassing on School Property

  • Entering Property of Another for Purpose of Damaging

Linkhorne Middle School dismissed early due to police investigation

Out of precaution, Lynchburg City Schools dismissed students and staff just after 8 a.m.

As police continued their investigation, officers requested K9 units from the Liberty University Police Department and Virginia State Police. The K9 units are trained in explosive detection to assist with searching the school grounds.

After a thorough search of the building, officers determined the school was safe.
