Tuolumne County man dies after being run over by his truck, CHP says

(FOX40.COM) — A 68-year-old man died on Thursday morning after he was run over by his truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP said the man from Groveland arrived at a stop sign on State Route 120 near Moccasin, a town about 60 miles east of Modesto. He then “partially exited” his truck while it was still in drive and it began to move forward, which led to him getting run over.

The truck rolled forward until it traveled off the road and crashed into several fences before stopping in a nearby open field.

Emergency personnel declared the driver dead at the scene, CHP said.

The truck was a Ford F150 Lightning pickup truck, the agency added.

The crash remains under investigation.
