For this year's Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, Porsche invited eight drivers to race in a class featuring the brand's Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Two drivers, three-time Rally America champion and professional daredevil Travis Pastrana, and IndyCar racer and R&T contributor JR Hildebrand, were especially competitive. So much so, they made a $2 bet over who would finish first.

Pastrana, Hildebrand and former Angles pitcher and current racer C.J. Wilson are featured in this video from Mobil 1's The Grid series. It's a fascinating look at competing at Pikes Peak, especially since Hildebrand and Wilson were rookies this year.

Pikes Peak is a daunting event, since it takes place on public roads that are only completely closed for the day of the race. That means the first and only time a rookie will drive the full course will be on race day, for their timed run. Otherwise, Pikes Peak can only be practiced in sections.

Despite this, Wilson put down an impressive 11:23.853, giving him 5th in the Cayman GT4 class, while Hildebrand managed a 10:39.301. A damn good time, but six seconds off Pastrana, so Hildebrand left the mountain $2 poorer.
