Traffic stop led to gun charges in Livermore

(KRON) – A Stockton resident was arrested on numerous gun charges after a traffic stop, according to the Livermore Police Department.

Livermore police officers conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Ranger that was speeding on Patterson Pass Road around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police learned that the driver had an active warrant for a weapons charge. This prompted a vehicle search that yielded multiple handguns.

3 people facing gun charges after traffic stop in American Canyon

The driver was identified as 46-year-old Stockton resident David Estes.

Estes was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for multiple charges including:

  • Carrying a loaded firearm on a person or in a vehicle while in a public place

  • Carry concealed weapon in a vehicle

  • Own/receive/purchase/possess a firearm while on probation

  • Carrying a loaded firearm when not the registered owner
