NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Flower enthusiasts can track which buds are blooming in New York thanks to the newly announced New York Blooms Report.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the release of the report on Wednesday to celebrate the start of spring. The weekly report will help New Yorkers spot roses, lilacs, tulips, cherry blossoms, and magnolias at over 30 attractions in New York.

Cherry Blossom season is officially here at Central Park

According to the report, magnolias and cherry blossoms are blooming in the city, the Hudson Valley, and Greater Niagara Regions. Every Wednesday the report will be updated with new locations of flowers blooming in the state.

“Spring is an exciting time in New York as the temperatures get warmer, the birds return from their winter migration, and the flowers bud and bloom in both our own gardens and in the many parks and botanical gardens throughout the state,” Governor Hochul said. “I encourage residents and visitors to stop and smell the roses – and a host of other flowers— while also discovering all that our parks, farms, historic sites and gardens have to offer.”
