Topeka mental health facility offers class for Mental Health Awareness Month

TOPEKA (KSNT) — A counseling and mental health facility in the Capital City is offering special classes during the month of May.

Pam Evans with Family Service and Guidance Center (FSGC) was on the 27 News morning show discussing a free mental health first aid class next Saturday, May 18 at the Shawnee County Public Library.

“What they can expect is learn about signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges that youth and teens unfortunately are challenged by a lot,” Evans said. “Also, they’ll learn how to help teens who maybe they come across who are in crisis and how to help them get resources.”
