Three boats worth $500K stolen in Carteret County

BEAUFORT, N.C. (WNCT) — The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help after three boats valued at around $500,000 were stolen Saturday in Carteret County.

Officials said two of the boats were stolen from Boats 365, located off N.C. 24. One boat was stolen from Goose Creek Marina. The suspected vehicle involved in the thefts is a dark in color Ford F-250 with dark rims.

The boat dealer implored residents with cameras facing Hwy 24 heading toward Cape Carteret/Swansboro area to let them know so they could help find the boats. Security cameras caught one truck after 10 p.m. Saturday night but had few details from the footage.

One person commented on the company’s website, saying she spotted one boat going through a Food Lion parking lot. She said she remembered seeing it because it was “going pretty fast.”
