Tennessee woman crashes car into Waffle House in Wytheville

WYTHEVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Wytheville Police Department says no one was hurt after a woman crashed her car into a Waffle House early Wednesday morning.

It all happened just before 4 a.m. on March 27 when a Subaru slammed into the Waffle House on E. Main Street.

Wytheville police said a 61-year-old woman from Kingsport, Tennessee told officers she was trying to pull into a parking space. She said her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator.

The car then slammed through the front of the restaurant.

Thankfully, the woman, employees, and customers were not hurt during the incident.

Investigators said the driver showed no signs of impairment and no charges were placed.

The department said this was a private property accident and the driver was reported at fault to insurance companies.
