CMPD: Arrest made after teen employee killed in restaurant shooting

An arrest has been made by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers in the shooting death of a 17-year-old employee.

The shooting happened Friday at a Jack in the Box on North Hoskins Road near Brookshire Boulevard.

Marcus Dahn, 28, was located and arrested by police for an unrelated arrest warrant, police said on Sunday. He was charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and other charges.

Police said the teen employee was Fate Brannon. They said they were called to the restaurant at about 2:45 p.m. on Friday, where they learned Brannon had been shot and killed inside the restaurant while he was waiting for someone to pick him up after work.

Police said they believe the employee was targeted.

Before Dahn’s arrest, investigators said they were looking for two people in connection with the shooting. Both of the suspects were said to be wearing masks, according to CMPD.

In court Monday, Dahn was denied bond.
