TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Taylor Swift’s father will not face legal action after a photographer accused the star’s dad of assaulting him during her tour stop in Australia last month, authorities said.

According to NBC News, Australian police “conducted an investigation following a report of an assault” on Feb. 27 at Neutral Bay Wharf in Sydney.

“No further police action will be taken in relation to the matter,” the New South Wales Police Force said in a statement to NBC News on Wednesday.

Photographer Ben McDonald claimed that the star’s father, Scott Swift, punched him in the face after he got off a yacht with his daughter last month. The veteran paparazzo reported the incident to authorities despite not needing medical attention and not being seriously injured, The Associated Press reported.

“It was just a punch in the chops. It’s a little tender, but I don’t have any bruising and it didn’t require medical assistance,” McDonald told AP. “In 23 years, I haven’t been assaulted and punched in the chops, particularly by the talent’s dad,” he added.

Swift had concluded her Australian leg of her “Eras Tour” the night before and was in the Sydney area when the alleged attack occurred.

McDonald had told AP that the media had been waiting to photograph Swift as she walked from a jetty to two waiting cars.

“Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water,” a representative from Swift’s team said.

According to NBC, police declined to name anyone involved in the incident, stating that “a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man” in their initial statement.
