SUV crashes into Brockton Liquor, causes severe damage

BROCKTON — An SUV crashed into a Brockton liquor store on Wednesday afternoon and caused severe damage, officials said.

Brockton police and firefighters responded to Brockton Liquor, located at 385 North Main St., at about 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday to find the entire front half of an SUV had slammed into the store near the front entrance, leaving debris of brick and glass in its wake, Brockton police spokesperson Darren Duarte said.

Prior to the crash, the driver of the SUV was traveling south on North Main Street when they swerved to attempt to avoid another vehicle, lost control and crashed into the liquor store, Duarte said.

No injuries were reported, and the driver of the SUV refused medical treatment on scene, he said.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
