Suspect in LI body parts investigation accused of stealing from CVS: police

LINDENHURST, Long Island (PIX11) – A suspect accused of scattering body parts around Long Island was arrested again over the weekend, according to authorities.

Amanda Wallace, 40, is accused of stealing beauty products from a CVS in Lindenhurst on Friday, police said. She was charged with petit larceny, according to authorities.

Wallace, along with 44-year-old Steven Brown, 38-year-old Jeffrey Mackey and 33-year-old Alexis Nieves, are accused of dumping severed body parts in several Suffolk County parks.

A left arm was discovered by a young girl walking to school on Feb. 29 on Siegel Boulevard in Babylon, which runs alongside Southards Pond Park, according to authorities. The arm had a distinct tattoo and the fingertips were cut off, police said.

More human remains belonging to the 53-year-old man and 59-year-old Donna R. Conneely were discovered at Southards Pond Park as well as a wooded location in West Babylon and at Bethpage State Park in the following days. Officials are still working to identify the man.

Suffolk police also executed a search warrant at an Amityville home, where Brown and Wallace live. No human remains were discovered there, according to authorities.

All four suspects were charged with concealment of a human corpse, hindering prosecution, and tampering with physical evidence. They were all freed without bail less than an hour after being charged, according to Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine.

Wallace had an ankle monitor on and was on supervised release, police said. Following her court appearance on Monday, she was remanded in police custody.

Brown was released following a hearing on Monday, officials said. He’s due back in court on April 1.

Nieves and Mackey, who were also ordered to wear ankle monitors, are expected back in court on Tuesday.
