Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid apologised to viewers after a guest swore live on air earlier today (April 23).

Labour MP and Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper appeared on the early morning show to discuss Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's controversial Rwanda bill, which was passed through parliament yesterday.

After slamming the bill as a "costly gimmick", Cooper accidentally let slip an expletive when claiming: "The Home Secretary himself has described it as batshit."

Reid was quick to pick up on the blunder and interjected: "Sorry, we can't use that word on television", to which Cooper covered her mouth with her hand before apologising herself.

The Rwanda bill will remove asylum seekers from the UK and send them to Rwanda, though Cooper said the opposition plans to scrap the policy should they win the general election this year.

Cooper is married to Reid’s regular GMB co-host Ed Balls, who had his own blunder on the show earlier this year when he accidentally kicked Reid in the head while they were giving a demonstration of plane etiquette.

During another show the following week, Reid revealed that Balls had sent her a bunch of flowers and an apology note.

"Yesterday, I failed to mention something hugely significant: you sent me the most lovely bunch of flowers and a sorry note for kicking me in the back of the head," she shared.

"Yeah, because I kicked you in the head, which is not a normal thing to say,” Balls then responded, though Reid assured him that he was a "very thoughtful man" and all was now "forgotten".

Good Morning Britain airs weekday mornings on ITV.
