Sunny for Mother’s Day but keep the umbrellas close by

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Happy Mother’s Day! What a great day for brunch outside with Mom and the kids! Mostly sunny skies and dry conditions for the rest of today with a few clouds bringing highs to around normal. Clouds will start building tonight as the next system moves in, lows slightly below normal with highs in the high 70s approaching the 80s and fairly low humidity will bring a break to the mugginess.

Monday shows building clouds with a small chance for afternoon rain into the evening with the upcoming system.

Big chance of rain on Tuesday, a bit of a soaker day, so pack your umbrellas heading into work and enjoy your Mother’s Day and outdoor activities before the rain arrives.

Chances of severe weather build towards the evening, but are expected to be some typical summer thunderstorms and shouldn’t be a cause for concern, severe weather chances will leave overnight with the possibility of returning through the weekend.

Clouds will break up late Tuesday evening, leaving Wednesday with sunny skies and a few clouds to keep the weather cooler with highs in the low 70s and lows in the lower 60s bringing another chance for outdoor activities, cookouts and celebrations for graduating seniors!

Possibility of brief showers and building instability into Wednesday with an approaching cold front, so time to pack the umbrella again.

Thickening cloud cover will keep highs in the upper 70s and lows in the lower 60s. High pressure should keep Thursday free of storms with an approaching low out of the Great Plains. Partly cloudy conditions will push temperatures into the low 80s and lows in the lows 60s as well.

More active weather will resume Friday into Saturday with the advancing low, but should be nothing to worry about after the storms and tornadoes from last week, rising temperatures into the low to mid-80s, bringing average temperatures for May also expected for the weekend.
