Summer concerts: What's coming to the Daytona Beach Bandshell?

Another summer at the World’s Most Famous Beach means another slate of weekend concerts at the historic Daytona Beach Bandshell.

On Memorial Day weekend, one of the destination’s most beloved rituals returns with a new lineup of pop and rock tribute acts turning back the clock in concerts that have become popular with visitors and locals alike.

The Friday night “Sounds of Summer” series and the Saturday Night “Star Spangled Summer Concert Series” are both free admission, with VIP reserved seating tickets also available for those interested.

Also on Memorial Day weekend, a 'Throwback Jam'

To mark the traditional opening weekend of the summer season, the Bandshell also will host the 6th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Summer Throwback Jam, a ticketed multi-act throwback concert on May 26.

This year, the show features 1980s pop star Lisa Lisa, who burned up the charts as part of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam with hits such as “Head to Toe” and “I Wonder If I Take You Home.”  Rounding out the bill: TKA, Judy Torres, George Lamond, Lissette Melendez, Rob Base and Betty Dee of Sweet Sensation, along with a Pair of DJs also spinning dance tracks.

Show time: 6 p.m.

Tickets range from $50-$150, plus fees, at Ticketmaster.com.

'Star-Spangled Summer Concert Series' salutes musical icons

On Memorial Day weekend, a popular summer staples returns with the first show in the summer-long “Star Spangled Summer Concert Series,” an annual free Saturday night showcase at the Bandshell.

Presented by Friends of the Bandshell, this year’s Star-Spangled lineup of pop-rock tribute acts will launch on May 25 with the twin bill of Rushour and KISS America, Rush and KISS tribute acts, respectively.

General admission to the Saturday Star-Spangled shows is free, with audience members welcome to bring along personal chairs to use in the GA section.

VIP reserved seating is also available for $15, with those tickets available online at DaytonaBandshell.com and ticketmaster.com. Reserved tickets also will be sold, if available, on show days at the Peabody Auditorium Box Office (600 Auditorium Blvd). and the Daytona Bandshell Box Office.

Concerts start at 7:15 p.m. followed by fireworks over the beach at 9:45 p.m.

'Sounds of Summer' offers more Bandshell concerts

Presented by the City of Daytona Beach, this weekly series of Friday night concerts is powered by its own lineup of nostalgia-driven tribute acts starting with a May 31 performance by the Caribbean Chillers, a Jimmy Buffett tribute act.
