Student brings fake gun to local middle school

LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) – Police were called after a student brought a fake gun to a local middle school on Monday.

According to Lorain City Schools Superintendant Jeff Graham, the district worked closely with the Lorain Police Department and visited the home of the student accused of bringing the gun to Southview Middle School.

Graham said officials met with the student’s family and said “everyone was very cooperative.”

“The school will react in a manner that is consistent with our policies and past practice,” said Graham.

The fake gun was taken as evidence to the Lorain Police Department, said officials.
