Storm damage and outages reported in Lancaster, York counties

YORK COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Damage and power outages were reported in Lancaster and York counties following Saturday’s powerful storms that packed hail, strong winds, and heavy rainfall.

Queen City News received pictures of items being whipped up and blown away by gusty winds in Lancaster County and damage done to some residential communities and local businesses during the strong storms.

Hail could be seen in flower beds and a knocked-over tree that barely missed clipping the side of a home. Hail was also reported in York County where more than 2,000 customers were without power.

Shattered windows could be seen across the entire front of Rock Hill’s American Freight Furniture store on Albright Road and roof damage was seen on another nearby business.

Another viewer sent us a video of a fallen tree that completely destroyed a multi-level residential home in Rock Hill.

No injuries were reported related to the storms.
