Stolen handgun, bottle of booze found after Southern California motorcycle chase

Irwindale police said that items found after a pursuit Saturday night could explain why the rider chose to flee.

The chase began after police attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation, the Irwindale Police Department posted on Instagram Sunday morning.

“However, the motorcyclist refused to stop and led the officers on a pursuit,” police said.

The chase eventually ended in El Monte, where the rider was taken into custody.

During a search of the bike, officers discovered a stolen handgun and posted an image of a half-finished bottle of Hennessy cognac.

“Perhaps this explains why the motorcyclist was so hesitant to stop for the officers. 🤷‍♂️,” police posted.

Brewing storm likely to ruin another Southern California weekend
