South Korean police chase runaway ostrich

STORY: Surprised residents posted pictures of the four-year-old male ostrich named Tadori on social media, as he broke free from a zoo named Bug City to trot past traffic on a busy road, local police said.

The police and local fire department worked together to capture Tadori at a car park located 2.6 km (1.6 miles) from the zoo in Seongnam, about half an hour south of Seoul.

The zoo said Tadori's only friend, a female ostrich named Tasooni, passed away about a month ago and suspected the bird may have been in some distress. The bird was safely captured and was taken back to the zoo and is in a stable condition, according to the zoo.
