Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who survived an assassination attempt on May 15, is to undergo another surgery, local news outlet Pravda reports, citing sources.

The Slovak politician will undergo surgery on his hip joint.

The prime minister had bleeding in the abdomen, which was stopped. The blood thinners Fico is taking may, however, cause problems in further treatment, Pravda writes.

Fico sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm, according to the news outlet Plus ONE DAY. His condition is very serious, but his life is not in danger.
