UPDATE: Lee’s Summit Police locate missing 87-year-old man safe

UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the Endangered Silver Advisory has been canceled and John Charles Jackson was located safe.


KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Lee’s Summit Police Department issued an Endangered Silver Advisory for a missing man who has Alzheimer’s.

John Charles Jackson, 87, was last seen near 3516 NE Kingwood Place in Lee’s Summit at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Jackson is a white man with blue eyes and white hair. He is 5-foot-6 and weighs 155 pounds. Jackson was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt and khaki pants.

Jackson’s wife thought he had gone for a walk before discovering that he had taken their car.  He does not usually drive on his own and does not have a phone with him.

He is driving a silver 2012 Ford Focus with Missouri plate, ZA3Y3C.
