Which Shrewsbury town employees made the most in 2023? Here are the top salaries
SHREWSBURY ― Public Schools Superintendent Joseph M. Sawyer topped the list of the highest-paid employees on the town payroll in 2023.
Sawyer had gross earnings of $257,959.50 including $241,088.51 in base pay and $16,870.99 in other payments.
The list also included the general manager of the Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operation, the town manager and leadership at the Fire and Police departments.
Christopher R. Roy, the general manager of SELCO, came in second with gross earnings of $238,552.08, followed by Town Manager Kevin Mizikar at $225,428.32.
Fire Chief James Vuona earned $219,990.36 in 2023. Of that total, $80,072.18 was in "other" payments, a category often defined as anything other than overtime pay, such as travel stipends, educational incentives and clothing allowances.
Police Chief Kevin Anderson grossed $210,877.06 which included $32,691.67 in "other" payments.
