Shots fired in Custer Twp. fight results in arrest

May 10—MANCELONA — A Mancelona man was taken into police custody after allegedly firing a handgun three times at his girlfriend's wall and car.

The Antrim County Sheriff's Office said they are withholding his name, pending his arraignment.

On Sunday night deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a home on Gildas Road in Custer Township after a woman told a dispatcher that her boyfriend had threatened her with a gun, a release said. While she hid from him in a closet, Sheriff Kevin Hoch said the man fired two rounds from his handgun into the wall and one round into her car.

The woman told law enforcement that they'd argued and that he broke items in the house and punched holes in the wall before he grabbed the gun. He drove away before deputies arrived, left his car on West Leonard Road, and deputies arrested him on Monday morning at a different house in Mancelona, Hoch said in a release.
