Seymour’s Burger Fest postponed, will return in 2025

SEYMOUR, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Home of the Hamburger board of directors say they have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s Burger Fest and Hot Air Balloon Rally.

According to a release, the reason for the event’s cancellation is being credited to “significant logistical complications” with WIS 54 under active road construction in and near Seymour.

Officials say the construction is reducing a section of WIS 54 from four lanes down to three while adding a two-way left turn lane, increasing the paved shoulder, and creating two new roundabouts at the intersection of WIS 54 and WIS 55 (Main Street) and the intersection of WIS 54, County Road C, and Ivory Street.

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of the public, event volunteers, and road crews, we’ve decided to postpone this year’s event. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make, but one we deemed appropriate for everyone’s safety given the large influx of visitors/traffic to our community during the event.

HOTH Board President, Donnie Planert, Jr.

Officials added that the board did review a number of options to still hold the event in 2024 but stated that changing the date of Burger Fest would take a significant amount of time to plan and could lead to availability issues for many of the volunteers involved with the event.

Planert, Jr. says the HOTH board will now be looking ahead to planning for the event in 2025 which will be the 35th anniversary of Burger Fest.
