Serious crash involving motorcyclist in Tampa shuts down road near TPA

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A serious crash that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital shut down a busy intersection near Tampa International Airport, police said.

On Friday afternoon, a crash between a motorcyclist and a vehicle occurred at North Lois Avenue and West Osborne Avenue, located only a few blocks away from TPA and Dale Mabry Highway.

The intersection reopened shortly before 8 p.m., according to police.

Tampa police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
