Security guard assaulted at Malco Theatre

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A security guard at the Malco Paradiso in East Memphis was allegedly assaulted by a man while responding to a disturbance Saturday night.

Officers responded to the aggravated assault call at the Malco Paradiso movie theatre located at 584 South Mendenhall Road at 8:26 p.m.

Police say a security officer was called to a disturbance in one of the theatres.

SWAT Security USA said the man was escorted from the building, but when they got outside, he became very combative. While the security guard was trying to detain the “unruly” suspect, he ran from the scene on foot.

The suspect reportedly pointed a gun at the security guard as he fled the theatre.

Memphis Police released a photo of the alleged suspect.

No arrests have been made at this time, but the investigation is ongoing, police say.
