Royals have rebranded the Pepsi Porch at The K following new Coca-Cola deal

There will be a new soft-drink choice at Kauffman Stadium this season.

The Royals on Monday announced a partnership with Heartland Coca-Cola as the “official stadium beverage provider.” That means Coca-Cola drinks will be replacing Pepsi beverages at Kauffman Stadium, beginning with Thursday’s season opener against the Minnesota Twins.

With Pepsi no longer being sold at Kauffman Stadium, it means the Pepsi Porch in right field also will be replaced.

The Royals have rebranded it as the QuikTrip Fountain Deck. A QuikTrip patch is part of the Royals’ jerseys this season, too.

Here is a description from the Royals’ website of the fountain deck: “You’ll have access to the Batter’s Eye Club providing you all you can eat food and beverages. We will also have 12 flat screen TVs, tables/chairs to sit and relax, and a front row view in right field to take in the fountains and maybe catch a home run ball or two!”

It is one of the social spaces at Kauffman Stadium, along with the Blue Moon Taproom, Price Chopper Patio, Hall of Fame Pavilion and Miller Lite Fountain Bar.

New eating options

A couple of local restaurants will have foods for sale beginning this season at The K.

The Buffalo State Pizza Company will be selling their New York-style slices at a pair of locations inside Kauffman Stadium: sections 234 and 252. The latter spot will allow fans to order custom toppings. The Buffalo State Pizza Company has locations on both sides of the state line.

The Italian Sausage Company, which is based in Gladstone, will have a spot near section 234.
