Route 413 in Middletown will be busy with police this morning. It's just a drill

There will be increased police activity near Newtown Yardley Road this morning, but authorites said there is no reason for concern.

Middletown Police announced that they would be working in the area of Pennswood Village retirement community on an elopement drill around 10 a.m. The drill includes community staff, police and county dispatchers.

These drills help communities prepare for cases of missing residents from their facilities.

"Training is critical to prepare for incidents of this nature and we applaud Pennswood for taking the time for something so important," the Middletown Police posted in a message on Facebook.

Pennswood Village sits off Route 413 near Tollgate Road between the George School and St. Mary Medical Center. It's large campus includes dozens of buildings and includes residents from those living independently to those being assisted in a nursing home setting.
