Route 15 closed in Snyder County

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU)— Both directions of State Route 15 are shut down due to a crash in Snyder County.

Officials say someone called 911 to report a box-style truck crashed into a utility pole with a transformer on it on Route 15 around 2:12 a.m. Friday.

First responder officials have not reported any injuries, but both directions of travel are shut down between the Route 11/15 split (Shamokin Dam Borough) and the Route 147 off-ramp (in Monroe Township) as crews try to clean up the scene.

First responders expect the road to be shut down for a few more hours. PennDOT will be diverting traffic in the area.

Detours in place:

  • Route 15 southbound: Route 147 north, exit at Route 1024 (Ridge Road), Route 405 south, Route 11.

  • Route 15 northbound: Route 11 north at the Route 11/15 split, Route 405 north.

  • Motorists traveling Route 147 southbound will be detoured at the Ridge Road interchange, Route 405 south, Route 11 south.
