Rocket City Trash Pandas release opening day roster, highlighted by Angels top 4 prospects

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — The Rocket City Trash Pandas released their 2024 Opening Day roster Tuesday.

The roster is filled with top prospects within the Angels farm system including the Angels’ top four prospects, and five of the LA’s top 10 prospects.

Nelson Rada, the Angels No. 1 prospect, is on the Trash Pandas Opening Day roster. The 18-year-old, left-handed outfielder signed with the organization in January 2022.

Flame-throwing Ben Joyce will return to the Rocket City to begin the year after spending some time with the Angels last season before getting injured. Joyce appeared in 27 games over the past two seasons for the Trash Pandas.

The Trash Pandas begin the season Friday with a three-game road series against the Chattanooga Lookouts. They open up play at Toyota Field on April 9 against the Birmingham Barons.
