Rider injured after crash between car and scooter

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Officials said a scooter rider received “serious injuries” after a crash on Friday, according to a social media post from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

According to police, the crash between the car and the scooter happened on 400 South State Street. Police said the scooter rider was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was later said to be in stable condition.

Police said road closures were in effect in the area, but TRAX was not affected. Officers expected the roads to reopen at 4:30 p.m.

This car vs. scooter incident happened less than three weeks after a different crash killed a scooter rider in Salt Lake City.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Police have urged drivers and pedestrians to use caution when driving or crossing the roads.
