Reward in 2021 Ponchatoula homicide investigation raised to $5K

PONCHATOULA, La. (WGNO) — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has raised the award amount for information in a case regarding the 2021 homicide of a Ponchatoula man.

According to deputies, around 3 a.m. on July 4, 2021, a drive-by shooting happened near the home of Harry Huges. Neighbors in the area told deputies that they believed the noise was fireworks.

Deputies said family members went to Hughes’ home and reportedly found him dead, lying in his bed.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards says they are now offering $5,000 to anyone who can help with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mike Sticker at 985-419-0976 or Crimestoppers of Tangipahoa at 1-800-554-5245.
