Remarkable Women: Sharon Aikens uses faith to help single ladies heal, hope, love again

GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — Sharon Aikens is an accomplished writer, real estate agent and pastor who has a passion for helping single women love again.

You can find her behind the podium every Sunday, delivering a message of hope at Believers Faith Ministry Church in Gonzales.

When she’s not preaching, she’s teaching. Aikens empowers women to love themselves, despite the challenges they often face. After all, finding someone to put a ring on it can take some time, and often involves a lot of waiting and heartache. Aikens knows this firsthand.

“I spent five and a half years single, and just took time for me,” Aikens explained.

To encourage women, Aikens hosts roundtable discussions. Using a pink box, the ladies would pull out questions and discuss each topic.

“I was teaching these women how to be single and how to be saved, while being single and how to do it the right way while waiting on your husband to come,” Aikens said.

Aikens considers herself a spiritual woman who wants to pass her faith on to others. She has a non-profit for kids, called the Better Days Hope Center. She wants to spread one message to kids.

“I’m going to different schools with a hope tour. We just want to spread a message of hope,” said Aikens.
