Remains of missing 83-year-old Florence man found in Kentucky

CALDWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WHNT) – According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky, the remains of a Florence man last seen April 7 have been found.

On Monday, April 15, an abandoned vehicle was found in the area of the Trusty Cemetery on Trusty Cemetery Road in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. The white Dodge Durango was identified as the vehicle belonging to Roy Foster Jackson, an 83-year-old man from Florence, Alabama.

ALEA, deputies searching for missing endangered man in Lauderdale County

Deputies in Lauderdale County did a welfare check at Jackson’s home in Florence, but did not find him.

“It was determined, by further investigation, Mr. Jackson was last seen near his home, in Alabama, on Sunday, April 7, 2024. In cooperation with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, Mr. Jackson was listed as a missing person from their jurisdiction,” the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said.

Caldwell County’s Emergency Management Agency organized an extensive search after the vehicle was found and on Saturday, April 20, Kentucky officials said Jackson’s remains were found, “some distance away from Trusty Cemetery.”
