HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The Pennsylvania Department of State’s election returns website has received a refresh just in time for the primary election.

Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt said Monday that the revamped interface is more user-friendly and intuitive for those looking to check statewide and county results.

“Our election night returns website will provide voters, candidates, and members of the media with a resource to find the most comprehensive picture of how Pennsylvanians voted,” Schmidt said. “The Department will post unofficial results on the site as we receive reports from each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties after the polls close at 8 p.m.”

Improvements include the addition of a customizable search feature, a location-based service to instantly launch a visitor’s county results, and security and accuracy improvements.

“While we know everyone will be eager to know the results, ensuring each vote is accurately and securely counted is the top priority,” Schmidt added.

Updates have also been made to how counties report election night results to the state.

Schmidt also reminds voters that mail-in ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Tuesday night.
