Raleigh County Administrator Jay Quesenberry said on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 the county had this grant last year and it was very successful in keeping down the population of stray animals.

“The Raleigh County Commission we operate animal control here in Raleigh County. Sometimes it’s really a problem to find a place for these animals that might be roaming loose. Somebody will call us and say can you pick up and animal a lot of times there’s nowhere to house the animal,” said Quesenberry.

Quesenberry says the county will issue a voucher to pet owners, who can then take the voucher to their local vet to have the procedure done.

You must be a resident of Raleigh County to receive a voucher.
