Rain and storms today; cooler but remaining mild

We’re coming off a fantastic weekend where temperatures were well-above average. We made it to 81° Sunday afternoon. We’ll be cooler today but still remain mild with temperatures in the low 70s. Clouds and rain moving in today will keep temperatures down.

We’re already seeing a few showers this Monday morning in the western half of the state. These showers will continue to increase in coverage throughout the day. A few thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening but no severe weather is expected. Rainfall is expected to reach peak coverage and intensity during the early evening hours.

Rain will taper off into early Tuesday morning. Skies will brighten tomorrow and temperatures will rise back to the mid 70s.

We will have more great weather over the next few days with a lot of dry time and temperatures rising to the 80s again in the middle of the week. A few spotty showers will be possible at times this week but it’s not until the end of this week that we will see much more rainfall. Scattered showers and storms are expected to return Friday.
